Under direct supervision, performs tasks necessary to insure the cleanliness of buildings and grounds.A. Maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment to insure cleanliness; repairs, inspects, shampoos, replaces, and cleans contents and fixtures of the buildings, as assigned; will report any building deficiencies found during shift.<br>B. Maintains consumables inventory to ensure adequate supplies to perform duties.<br>C. Conducts office, classroom, and common space furniture moves; assists with college event set ups.<br>D. Assists with snow removal, which may include the operation of motorized equipment, and with emergency evacuations as assigned.<br>E. Conserves energy by turning off lights in unoccupied rooms.<br>F. Provides excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and students.<br>G. Assists with campus security and may deliver intra-campus mail.<br>H. Serves as a member of the emergency response team.<br> <div><u>Other Responsibilities:</u></div><div> </div><div>A. Performs other duties as required or assigned.</div><div>B. May serve as a back-up to other staff members, as needed.</div><div>C. May assist new employees and coordinate the activities of as-needed and student workers.</div><div>D. Responds to the functions of the position in an environmental setting which might include cold, heat, odor, dampness, dirt, fumes, dust, oil, grease, noise, or vibration on a frequent basis. Appropriate protective devices are available as required.</div>A. High school diploma or equivalent with ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions required.<br>B. At least one to three years of commercial or institutional custodial experience required.<br>C. Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without an accommodation; ability to climb ladders and to move stage platforms and chairs, etc. required.<br>D. Ability to pass a physical exam if offered the position.<br>E. Excellent oral and written communication skills desirable.<br>F. Proficiency in English desirable.<br>G. Valid State driver's license desirable.This is for 1st shift.<br><br>Hiring range: $15.73/hr. min. - $16.91/hr. 1st quartile - $18.09/hr. mid.
