We strive to be a more inclusive community as we seek to understand and celebrate our unique experiences and perspectives.</strong><br><br>This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of campus boiler systems, HVAC equipment, chilled water systems, building automation controls, and fire alarm systems. <br>The successful candidate will help ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while contributing to the daily operations of a thriving campus community.<ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Operate and monitor high- and low-pressure steam and hot water boiler systems. </li><li>Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on boilers and related equipment. </li><li>Sample and test boiler water systems to ensure proper operation and compliance. </li><li>Maintain and repair boiler piping systems and chilled water systems. </li><li>Assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and building automation systems. </li><li>Inspect, maintain, and repair fire alarm system components as needed. </li><li>Respond promptly to system alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations, including system shutdowns. </li><li>Keep accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, operating logs, and compliance documentation. </li><li>Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. </li><li>Participate in an on-call rotation to support campus operations as needed. </li><li>May provide guidance and oversight to student workers during summer operations.</li></ol><br><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br>This position may be required to manage student workers in the summer. <ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>A lifestyle in agreement with the <a href="http://www.olivet.edu/lifestyle-covenant/">ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant</a>.</li><li>Knowledge of steam and hot water boiler systems, chillers, HVAC equipment, and building automation systems. </li><li>Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and complete preventative maintenance tasks. </li><li>Strong attention to safety procedures and regulatory compliance. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a facilities team. </li><li>Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. </li><li>Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.</li></ol><strong>EDUCATION</strong><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Trade school training, technical certifications, or related vocational education preferred. </li><li>EPA certification is a plus. </li><li>Previous experience in boiler plant operations, facilities maintenance, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.</li></ol><br><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Work is performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including mechanical rooms, boiler plants, and other campus facilities. </li><li>Position may require lifting, climbing, bending, and working in varying weather conditions. </li><li>Participation in on-call responsibilities is required.</li></ol><br><strong>SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION</strong><br>The salary for this position is $30.00 per hour.
