Candidates must demonstrate exceptional knowledge of sprint training and development, strong leadership skills, successful recruiting, organization and communication skills.<br><br>This position reports to the Head Cross Country/Track and Field Coach. <ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Responsibilities include but not limited to coaching the sprints and hurdles</li><li>Must be able to recruit successful & qualified student athletes that fit the university’s mission</li><li>Assist with program lifting for the sprints group</li><li>Manage event group training tools and equipment</li><li>Work in alignment with track and field staff toward program goals</li><li>Other administrative duties of the Track and Field program as assigned by the Head Coach. </li></ol><br><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>A lifestyle in agreement with the <a href="http://www.olivet.edu/lifestyle-covenant/">ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant</a>.</li><li>Possess successful experience as a sprints/hurdles coach.</li><li>Proven organization and leadership skills.</li><li>Mentor student athletes in their development.</li><li>Communicate effectively</li><li>Collaborate with other coaches to accomplish goals. </li><li>Assist with home meet management.</li><li>Knowledgeable on sprint training from 60m up to 400m. </li></ol><strong>EDUCATION</strong><br>Earned Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. <br><br><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong><br>Offices for the Track and Field staff are located in Perry Center. The indoor Track and Field venue has a mondo surface and is an 8 lane 200m flat. The Outdoor Track and Field venue is located at Ward Field. Travel will be required both in and out of season. <br><br><strong>SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION</strong><br>The annual salary for this position is $43,000.
